Exciting Times – we’re on our way…Please help us complete this project…

The new Thirty-five meter pool at Edison High school will be starting construction soon!

We would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Superintendent Dr. Harwick, Dr. Simon, Dr. Dishno and everyone at the HBUSD who worked so hard to make it happen.

We still need your help!

We still need to raise another $75,000 to fund the bleachers sunshades, and additional ADA equipment. Please see the Donation Page to contribute.

Our need is for an aquatics complex that would be compliant with current ADA requirements, energy efficiency requirements, minimum filtration standards and building and safety codes for our Special Ability Cluster Students, high school students and our surrounding community residents.

The Dream is real – the reality is tomorrow with your help…

Thank you for your consideration to help fund our desperately needed Edison Chargers Aquatics Complex for Huntington Beach residents and our surrounding communities.

The aquatics facilities at Edison High School are beyond their expected life-span.  It is in our community’s best interest to provide a swimming pool that is up to date with current health, safety, and ADA codes.  The current pool pump and filtering equipment is not as efficient as modern day equipment used today.  Therefore we are asking the community to join us in raising funds for a modern aquatics complex.

There is no facility for CIF regulation water polo, placing the teams at a competitive disadvantage and unable to host competitions and practice effectively.  The swimming competitors are at risk due to the shallow depth of the current swimming competition pool.  A new swimming pool would address these concerns and provide the space needed for the current number of Edison High School athletes.  The diving teams would benefit from the new proposed layout and advanced diving equipment.

The entire Edison High School student body would benefit from a new aquatic complex.  From physical education classes to sports therapy after injury.   The new design provides an ADA compliant pool that  would benefit the students of our SAC Program (Special Abilities Cluster).  The Special Abilities Cluster is a comprehensive, integrated program meeting the needs of students with developmental disabilities.

The surrounding communities benefit from the following community programs that operate at the pool.

*   Swimming lessons
*   Lifeguard training and water safety classes
*   Recreational swim
*   Swimming, water polo, and diving clubs

Additionally,  the high school will benefit from the  revenue generated from local, regional, and national events held at the aquatic complex.  The surrounding businesses  benefit from the attendees patronage.  We all benefit.

We hope you will support this project either through your time or financial commitment.
